This one day class explains the process of making an Electric Guitar from scratch through demonstrations with samples and specialty tools. It is required before starting our guitar-making course (G-Lab).
Key topics for this intro class include guitar anatomy, parts and components, wood selection and tonal qualities, technical specs, hardware and electronic options, specialty tools and machinery, tool safety, design and multiple crafting processes.
By the end of this course you will have a detailed plan with parts list you can use to craft your own custom instrument in your own shop or fabricate your custom instrument in G-Lab.
This course is for anyone interested in taking, as well as any woodworkers or creatives with their own shop space. All tools and materials will be provided.
Additional costs – The process of making a guitar can be costly. After this class each participant will need to acquire all the components for their instrument before starting their build. Expect to spend $300 – $600 in hardware and electronics. Resources for sourcing materials will be provided.
